
Dr. Sergey Morozov, PhD, sent shockwaves through the global medical imaging community when he defected from Russia due to his opposition to the invasion of Ukraine. We caught up with him at ECR 2022 to find out how his switch to a corporate role in Liège, Belgium, is working out.
Until 30 March, Morozov was chief radiology officer for Moscow. He was also CEO of the Diagnostics and Telemedicine Center in Moscow and is past president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII) and a longstanding and active member of the AuntMinnieEurope.com editorial advisory board. He now works as chief innovation officer for software developer Osimis.
Morozov says his training has enabled him to make a successful transition from radiologist to industry executive. He has received an extremely warm welcome from his Belgian colleagues and is making great progress learning French, he explains in a video interview.
