Diagnostic imaging, outpatient, and cancer care services provider Affidea Group is teaming with Belgian software company Icometrix to improve care for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neurological disorders using artificial intelligence (AI).
Icometrix's icobrain AI software is designed to help radiologists and neurologists quantify and track different brain abnormalities on MRI scans. Information is presented in a report that includes healthy control data to aid in the interpretation and communication of results.
Affidea will implement a new AI tool, known as icobrainms, to monitor disease progression and help assess MS patients to improve their treatment and follow-up care.
The pilot program will launch in Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, and Serbia.
