Fecal test, sigmoidoscopy effective for colorectal cancer screening

NEW YORK (Reuters Health), Jul 12 - Both fecal occult blood testing and flexible sigmoidoscopy represent feasible and acceptable approaches to colorectal cancer screening in normal-risk men and women, Italian researchers conclude. The six-center study included more than 18,000 randomly selected patients between 55 and 64 years old who hadn't been screened for colorectal cancer in the past two years.
