Improve MRI safety in Europe, urge medical physicists

The European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics recommends imaging centers take a two-level approach to improve MRI safety and eliminate accidents. It has found a wide variation in safety procedures in Europe, ranging from restrictive national standards to no MRI safety regulations at all, the organization reports in a policy statement published in the

has named Dr. Maximilian Reiser, of Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, as the journal's new editor in chief, effective January 2014. Reiser will replace Dr. Adrian Dixon, who has held the position since 2008.
