Digital mammo with CAD requires sharp eye for false negatives

In the past few years, traditional film-screen and digital mammography has benefited by the application of computer-aided detection (CAD) software. Although studies have shown that CAD use can increase the detection of early-stage malignancies, radiologist experience is needed to reduce the number of false negatives to a minimum, according to researchers from Italy.
