The Spanish Society of Medical Radiology (SERAM) has issued a statement, indicating that it supports higher-level training for radiographers.

Education and training standards for radiographers have come into focus after the association for advanced radiographers in imaging for diagnosis and nuclear medicine (TSID-MN) recently called for a change in radiographer training standards to include university education.

SERAM said it supports this proposal and that it is "essential" to know in depth the arguments of the different organizations working on this common goal.

"Only the university can guarantee the comprehensive and complete training that radiographers need to carry out their work," said Dr. Alfonsa Friera, head of professional affairs at SERAM.
