The funding round was led by Swiss venture capital firm VI Partners, along with participation from Sweden's EQT Foundation.

The company said the funding will be used to build on this momentum to achieve its goal of giving a billion women worldwide access to better screening to detect breast cancer early. Vara also said it has integrated into more than 30% of screening centers across Germany over the past year, as well as colaunched centers across Greece and Mexico.
