Artificial intelligence (AI) image analysis software developer Lunit has received Europe's CE Mark certification for its software that helps detect breast cancer on screening mammography.
Lunit Insight MMG analyzes mammography images to provide information on the location of suspicious lesions and generate an abnormality score. Lunit intends for the software to improve mammography's effectiveness and reduce the number of unnecessary breast biopsies.

Lunit first introduced the AI software at the 2018 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting. It was also the subject of a February study in Lancet Digital Health that found the performance of radiologists improved after the addition of AI.
