Breast screening clinics in Sydney, Australia are temporarily closed as the city attempts to ward off the resurgence of COVID-19, according to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Women with mammograms scheduled at free clinics in the Greater Sydney area were advised to have their appointments rescheduled, the report said. These include the Royal Hospital for Women and Royal Prince Alfred, David Jones and Myer stores, and standalone and mobile van services.

The reason for the closures is staff being redeployed to other areas of the pandemic response, the report said. Under the city's lockdown, residents are allowed to leave their homes for medical reasons.
