The Health Services Executive (HSE) in Ireland said it has restored 80% of all servers and devices as a result of its ongoing efforts to rebuild health IT systems from the devastating cyberattack in May.

Many of the priority systems are back online at local sites, including radiology and diagnostic systems, maternity and infant care, patient administration systems, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, radiotherapy, and laboratories, according to a 21 July update by the HSE.

"But our work in these areas remains challenged and far slower and less integrated compared to normal," the HSE wrote. "Restoration is technically challenging and needs to be done in a safe way."

The HSE said its priority remains on bringing back key patient care systems in line with clinical priority. Healthcare services still continue to be severely impacted by the cyberattack.
