ESR, ESCR publish book on cardiac imaging

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) has published a book on cardiac imaging, produced in cooperation with the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR), for the International Day of Radiology (IDoR) on 8 November.

The organizations produced the book, The HEART revealed: Radiology in the diagnosis and management of cardiac conditions, to underline the significance of cardiac imaging and show its current place in today's medical healthcare spectrum.

The book covers basic cardiac CT and MR exams, risk stratification and cardiac imaging trials, ischemic heart, myocarditis, athlete's heart, and imaging of coronary arteries. In addition, new mapping techniques and the so-called heart-brain axis a are described, as are imaging after acute coronary syndrome and artificial intelligence in cardiovascular disease. Radiographers and physicists also explain their roles and contributions in cardiovascular radiology.
