Digital x-ray developer Thales Group launched a new flat-panel digital radiography (DR) detector at ECR 2013 in Vienna.

Designed to perform both fluoroscopy and radiography (R/F) exams, Pixium RF 4343 FL has a large 17 x 17-inch field-of-view and is designed for easy integration into remote-controlled table systems, according to the company. The new panel is designed to replace systems currently using image intensifiers for routine R/F studies, and complements a high-end R/F panel that Thales already has in its product line. Pixium RF 4343 FL is currently shipping.

In addition to the R/F panel, Thales also highlighted products introduced at the RSNA 2012 meeting in Chicago, including the Pixium Portable 2430 EZ, a wireless DR detector for portable applications, and Alto DR, the vendor's DR imaging subsystem that includes image processing and a customizable user interface.
