Philips brings app-based ultrasound to U.K.

Philips Healthcare has launched its Lumify mobile application-based diagnostic ultrasound platform for point-of-care imaging in the U.K.

Lumify is designed for acute care, nonemergency, sports, and primary care practices. It connects compatible smart devices, ultrasound transducer technology, integrated IT, and support services to advance patient care and potentially reduce associated ultrasound costs.

In November 2017, the German armed forces (Bundeswehr) announced plans to adopt Philips' Lumify mobile app-based diagnostic ultrasound model as standard equipment for its doctors and paramedics in emergency and rescue operations.
