O'Sullivan joins Microbot's advisory board

Dr. Gerry O'Sullivan of Saolta University Health Care Group in Galway, Ireland, has become a member of the scientific advisory board of Microbot Medical.

O'Sullivan has served as a fellow at Stanford University Medical Center and as a consultant at Rush University Medical Center. He specializes in venous disease, with expertise in deep venous thrombus removal, inferior vena cava (IVC) reconstruction, and IVC filter indications.

He has more than 25 years of experience and is a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), as well as a fellow of the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). He is also the primary author in multiple publications concerning the deep venous system, serves on the executive committee of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE), and is vice chair of the scientific program committee for the society's annual meeting.

The company said O'Sullivan will leverage his interventional radiology experience to progress the Liberty robotic system through regulatory, clinical, and commercialization phases.
