The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) has officially launched the i-Violin oncological imaging project, presenting an overview of the project to representatives of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency

i-Violin consists of 10 members and is a 24-month project, according to EIBIR. Its name stands for "implementing verifiable oncological imaging by quality assurance and optimisation" and its mission is to optimize oncological imaging in Europe.

The organizers aim to contribute to establishing a harmonized and standardized oncological imaging approach focusing on the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, as well as a targeted education and training program for radiologists, radiographers, and medical physicists that will accompany dissemination and foster uptake.

Dissemination will be essential to ensure implementation of the new tools and procedures, noted Scientific Coordinator Prof. Christoph Hoeschen from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany.

More details about the initiative are available on the EIBIR website.
