ESMI honors Gambhir with achievement award

The European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI) has chosen Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, PhD, to receive its annual achievement award for 2020.

The ESMI honor recognizes the chairman of the department of radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine as one of the founding fathers of nuclear medicine and an influential contributor to the field.

Gambhir is scheduled to give his plenary lecture at ESMI's annual meeting, which is set for 25 August to 28 August in Thessaloniki, Greece. However, if the current COVID-19 pandemic prohibits the meeting onsite, ESMI plans to hold a virtual annual meeting.
