ESR celebrates successful IDoR 2017

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is celebrating a successful International Day of Radiology (IDO\oR), which was held on 8 November.

A new book in PDF format, HELP: Emergency Medical Imaging, was published on the same day and downloaded more than 1,500 times within the first five days of its release. The book was edited by Dr. Robert Dondelinger of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Liège in Belgium, and included 42 contributors from around the world, as well as chapters provided by the ESR's EuroSafe Imaging Initiative, its Patient Advisory Group, and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS).

More than 160 radiology-related professional societies from around the world participated, the ESR said.

On the social media side, the IDoR Facebook page attracted 7,800 likes and gained over 2,000 new fans. On Twitter, 5,200 tweets with the hashtag IDoR 2017 went out, generating a user feed reach of 24.3 million.

Next year's IDoR will be celebrated on 8 November 2018, and will focus on cardiac imaging, according to the ESR.
