Philips promotes Azurion research

Philips Healthcare said researchers at a Dutch hospital found its Azurion image-guided therapy platform yielded significant clinical workflow benefits over the course of a two-year independent study.

After reviewing nearly 800 patient procedures, the researchers at St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein found the use of Azurion resulted in a 17% faster average interventional procedure time and a 12% lower average interventional procedure time, according to Philips. In addition, the institution had a 12% reduction of in-lab patient preparation time and a 28% improvement in postprocedure lab time.

These improvements will enable the hospital to treat one more patient per day, Philips said. St. Antonius Hospital was one of the first hospitals to install Azurion.
