Back in late February, the judging panel for the annual award scheme named the following as the winner of the best paper: Do you recommend cancer screening to your patients? A cross-sectional study of Norwegian doctors. Bringedal B et al, BMJ Open, published online on 30 August 2019.

Trophy presentations were due to take place at ECR 2020, but when the congress was postponed, the trophies were sent by courier to the winners.

Lead author Berit Bringedal, PhD, a sociologist and senior researcher at the LEFO-Institute for Studies of the Medical Profession in Oslo, and her three co-authors have worked from home since mid-March, but they are continuing to exchange ideas and collaborate closely.

The other authors of the BMJ Open paper -- from left to right: Dr. Karin Isaksson Rø, PhD; Dr. Atle Fretheim, PhD; and Stein Nilsen, PhD -- react to the news that the team's trophy has arrived safely.

"The four of us don't work in the same location. Karin and myself are at LEFO, Atle is at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health in Oslo, and Stein is at the University of Bergen," Bringedal noted. "We hope this award can serve as an inspiration for everyone to continue collaborative work, despite being based at different institutions."
