August 12, 2016 -- Lantheus Holdings, parent company of Lantheus Medical Imaging, has sold its Australian radiopharmacy servicing business to Global Medical Solutions of Arncliffe.

The deal covers greater Melbourne, Victoria, and greater Adelaide, South Australia. Radiopharmacies in these areas prepare individual doses of SPECT radiopharmaceuticals, which are then sold to healthcare providers.

As part of the transaction, the two firms have also entered into a long-term contract under which Lantheus will supply Global Medical with its products and Global Medical will distribute Lantheus' radiopharmaceuticals in Australia and other international markets. Global Medical will also distribute Lantheus' Definity ultrasound contrast agent in Australia and New Zealand, Lantheus said.
