A 69-year-old man with a history of alcoholism and noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. After the endoscopic removal of a polyp of the sigmoid colon (tubulovillous adenoma with low-grade dysplasia) and rising serum levels of cholestasis markers, he has an abdominal contrast-enhanced CT.
