Hologic gets CE Mark for breast specimen x-ray system

November 13, 2020 -- Hologic has received the CE Mark for its Faxitron Path+ specimen radiography system, which can be used for breast tissue imaging. The system consists of a high-resolution detector that allows pathologists to image specimens of various sizes.

Faxitron Path+ offers up to 10 times geometric magnification, which helps image small microcalcifications; users can choose the best x-ray exposure settings for particular specimens.

Hologic acquired digital specimen radiography company Faxitron Bioptics, the maker of the system, in 2018.
