December 6, 2012 -- Digital x-ray developer Thales Group unveiled several new products at this year's annual RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The company touted its new-generation 12 x 15-cm digital detector based on complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology, designed for combined conebeam CT (CBCT)/panoramic x-ray systems used in dentistry. Called SiX 650 HD, the new detector features two levels of sensitivity to meet the requirements of both CBCT and panoramic imaging.

The company also introduced Alto DR, a new-generation digital radiography (DR) subsystem to complete a radiographic exam from patient registration to image processing and transmission. The new subsystem is designed for all Thales Pixium radiographic detectors, for fixed or wireless applications.

Thales also expanded its portfolio with the Pixium Portable 2430 EZ Wi-Fi ultralight flat-panel detector, which offers autodetection and image storage capacity. The new Pixium 2430 EZ is designed for pediatric imaging and can equip a new radiography room or a mobile cart.
