September 17, 2021 -- The World Health Organization (WHO) is urging all stakeholders to "act now for safe and respectful childbirth" for this year's World Patient Safety Day on 17 September, which has the theme of "Safe maternal and newborn care." Radiology Across Borders has expressed strong support for the initiative.

Radiology Across Borders posted a video on LinkedIn calling for creating and enabling an environment for safe and respectful maternal and newborn care. It is also offering free webinars on its website, including its recent Vital project with webinars on obstetric ultrasound.

World Patient Safety Day was established in 2019 to enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in healthcare safety, and promote global actions to enhance safety and reduce harm. For more details about the event, go to the WHO website.
