March 15, 2021 -- Limited sales opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a stronger Swedish krona hampered PACS vendor Sectra in its 2020/2021 fiscal third quarter.

For the period (end-31 January), Sectra had net sales of 394.2 million Swedish krona, (38.9 million euros), down 13.8% compared with the 457.4 million kronor (45.1 million euros) reported in the third quarter last year. The vendor had profit before tax of 67.8 million kronor (6.6. million euros), compared with profit before tax of 100.7 million kronor (9.9 million euros) in the same period the year before.

Although sales and earnings were down from the prior year, the firm noted that the third quarter of 2019/2020 was a record-breaking quarter, and it was still pleased with the results.

In good news, order bookings increased 38.7% to 598 million kronor (59 million euros). Of those bookings, 17% were recognized as revenue during the quarter and a further 22% to 32% will be recognized within the year, Sectra said.
