As part of the split, Parexel Informatics will be renamed Calyx and be privately held by the same ownership group as Parexel. CEO Gavin Nichols will lead Calyx, with the company being headquartered in Nottingham, U.K., and Durham, North Carolina. The firm will also employ about 2,300 employees.

Parexel said it separated Calyx in order to streamline its business strategy and customer relationships as well as position both organizations for long-term success. Parexel will continue to leverage multiple solutions from Calyx, including its medical imaging, clinical trial management, electronic data capture, and regulatory information management offerings.
