July 17, 2018 -- Preclinical imaging technology developer MR Solutions has installed a cryogen-free, 7-tesla MRI system at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Hawaii.

On the island, 1 in 7 residents has chronic kidney disease, and the condition is particularly prevalent among Japanese, Filipino, and Native Hawaiian residents, according to the company. Research led by Kevin Bennett, PhD, who has developed a special contrast agent for use with the system, will focus on why these particular ethnic groups are more prone to the disease.
