Lead author Mikhail Zubkov, PhD, and colleagues performed whole-body MRI scans on mice with the novel technology, which features a reduced coil size and alternating magnetic field intensity. The result is greater sensitivity in the entire field-of-view and minimized noise to enhance image quality (NMR Biomed, Vol. 31:8, e3952).
In addition, the cost of raw materials for the coil is low, and the method of manufacturing the technology can be adapted to other projects, the researchers noted.
