September 11, 2020 -- Siemens Healthineers has installed its first Artis icono angiography system at Cork University Hospital in Ireland.

The Artis icono angiography system serves as an upgrade to the hospital's aging stroke and neuroradiology equipment. The system provides support for precision medicine, helping to individualize stroke treatment. It also offers high-speed, low-contrast 3D imaging, according to Siemens.

The hospital is one of just two neuroradiology service providers in Ireland, providing care to patients in the South/Southwest Hospital Group, as well as the South-West Region. The system was installed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the company.
