June 6, 2019 -- Cardiac software developer HeartFlow said National Health Service (NHS) England has extended reimbursement for one year for the company's FFRct Analysis software for calculating noninvasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) measurements in patients with heart disease.

Since April 2018, HeartFlow has been participating in NHS England's Innovation and Technology Payment program, which provides reimbursement for the use of technologies in which financial or procurement barriers prevent widespread adoption. More than 35 hospitals in the U.K. have adopted the software since the designation, and another 30 are expected, according to the company.

HeartFlow's FFRct Analysis provides anatomic and functional information in a single test using data from CT scans. It is designed to be used for stable symptomatic patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) to determine who should be sent on for catheter-based angiography.

The extension runs through March 2020.
