Subtle's software integrated into Siemens' Open Recon

By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

July 18, 2022 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) developer Subtle Medical's image enhancement software SubtleMR has been integrated into Siemens Healthineers' reconstruction pipeline Open Recon.

SubtleMR offers deep-learning postprocessing for denoising and increased sharpness on faster MRI sequences. The software will be available on Siemens' Magnetom Sola, Solafit, and Altea scanners with the NX VA51 operating system. The software works with major contrasts, including T1, T2, T2 FLAIR, and T2 (2D, 3D), and is compatible with most MRI procedures. It is compatible with all downstream quantitative and diagnostic applications.

Siemens' Open Recon aims to enable third-party image reconstruction and postprocessing to be directly integrated in the reconstruction pipeline. Therefore, no additional image export step is necessary, and the results are directly available on the scanner console.

Furthermore, the product is still under development and not commercially available yet. It is not for sale in the U.S.
