The system, which combines 4D thermal-surface camera technology with real-time x-ray tracking, enables delivery of radiotherapy and radiotherapy with submillimeter accuracy for treating cancer and other conditions, according to the institution. Addenbrooke's is the first hospital in the U.K. to receive ExacTrac Dynamic.
The development means the hospital will be able to offer stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic ablative radiation treatment to patients not only with non-small cell lung cancer but also those with lung, lymph node, and non-spine bone oligometastatic disease.
