Belgian hospital begins using IBA proton system

September 17, 2020 -- Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) announced that the Particle Therapy Interuniversity Center Leuven (ParTICLe) in Belgium has begun treating patients with the company's ProteusOne system.

These are the first patients to receive proton beam therapy in Belgium, IBA said.

The system includes the company's pencil-beam scanning and isocenter volumetric imaging capabilities, Philips Healthcare's Ambient Experience, and RaySearch's RayCare oncology information system, according to the firm.
