COCIR elects Bernt Bieber as new president

May 11, 2020 -- The European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR) has elected Bernt Bieber, PhD, as its new president.

Bieber is currently senior vice president of direct sales at Siemens Healthineers. He will serve as COCIR president for four years, and he succeeds Dr. Jan Kimpen, PhD, chief medical officer at Philips Healthcare, in the post.

Bieber has spent more than 30 years in sales and marketing positions with Siemens, including key account management, global sales responsibility for MRI, and area sales management in Germany. He spent three years working in the U.S., and between 2009 and 2011, he was a member of the advisory board of an initiative designed to raise awareness of the economic impact of healthcare in the Frankfurt area.
