IBA awarded South African cyclotron installation

September 11, 2019 -- Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) will install its Cyclone 70 cyclotron at iThemba Laboratory for Accelerator Based Sciences (iThemba Labs) in Cape Town.

iThemba Labs is one of the official research facilities of the National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa. The installation is part of phase one of the isotope facility's plan to broaden its nuclear medicine activities and to train young people on the necessary technical skills for accelerator-based sciences and technologies.
