The company's Enhanced Screw Visualization technique supports the colorized display of different screws in clinical 3D images; this makes it easier to distinguish them and improves communication with the surgical team during complex procedures, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Enhanced Vessel Visualization performs a similar function for vessels, providing automatic color display of vessels to help better define vessel outlines and side branches, Ziehm noted.

Both options are included in a new software package that also includes an enhanced measurement function for more precise measurement of distances, angles, and vessel lumen.
In other news from ECR 2020, Ziemen is demonstrating a mobile catheterization lab for the first time. The lab is based on the company's Vision RFD Hybrid Edition C-arm, and it includes a ceiling-mounted display and hemodynamic measuring station to monitor and document patient vital functions. Ziehm believes the concept could be a cost-effective alternative to conventional cath labs based on fixed cardiac angiography systems.
Finally, Ziehm has enhanced its NaviPort navigation interface to support robotic-guided systems for spine surgery. NaviPort connects to the ExcelsiusGPS system from Globus Medical and the Rosa One Spine from Zimmer Biomet and enables more precise positioning of surgical instruments through intraoperative planning for minimally invasive and open surgery, the company said.
