By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

August 24, 2012 -- Philips Healthcare will highlight its new EchoNavigator product, set to be launched later this year, at the 2012 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress in Munich, the company said.

EchoNavigator combines x-ray and echocardiography to bring live, interactive images to operators performing catheter-based structural heart disease procedures, Philips said. By integrating x-ray and echo images in a single view, the technique will enable clinicians to perform procedures more efficiently, saving time and improving patient care, the company said.

System navigation will also be simplified using the integrated modalities, Philips said, boosting procedural confidence and supporting communications within the institution's heart team.
