U.K. breast cancer screening service Nuffield Health said it has installed six Mammomat Inspiration digital mammography systems from Siemens Healthineers.
The systems were installed at hospitals in Woking, Dergby, Leicester, Oxford, Cardiff, and Hereford; they are "3D breast tomosynthesis-ready" to accommodate state-of-the-art imaging at the facilities.
Nuffield's head of mammography and laser safety Sue Oliver said comfort of the new Siemens systems is a key consideration for patients, allowing them to relax during appointments. The units feature Siemens' Opdose technology to automatically select the best possible anode/filter combination as well as the optimal dose for each patient's individual characteristics.
