Agfa provides managed services to Dutch site
By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

April 24, 2012 -- Agfa HealthCare is now furnishing its Impax PACS/RIS to Orbis Medical Center in Sittard-Geleen, the Netherlands, as an offsite, managed-services project.

Since 2006, the Dutch center had used a third-party IT provider to host its Impax PACS/RIS as a software-as-a-service (SaaS). As of February, Agfa has been delivering the SaaS, as well as long-term archiving, from data centers in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, and Agfa's headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium.

Under the contract with the 570-bed facility, Agfa handles service-level management, application management, system management and administration, infrastructure (servers and storage) and application provisioning, data-center provisioning, and telecommunications infrastructure.
