December 21, 2012 -- Philips Healthcare has signed an agreement with Region of Southern Denmark to explore joint business opportunities by opening a research and design office in Odense in 2013.
The healthcare system in Denmark is undergoing a major transformation with the building of nine new hospitals and hospital units over the next 10 years. At the same time, the entities think it may be an opportunity to enhance productivity of Danish healthcare and create an affordable healthcare system.
Locating Philips' research and design staff in the region to pilot, test, and evaluate patient-centered innovations, accelerate research results, and bring products to market.
