By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

April 4, 2011 -- A German hospital is replacing its existing hospital information system and document management system with Agfa HealthCare's Orbis and HYDMedia.

St. Vincenz Hospital in Limburg said its existing software is being discontinued by the vendor so it decided to make the switch to Agfa.

The hospital plans to stop using paper records and become fully digital, and foresees Agfa's products will help with the transition. The transition to the new hospital information system is set for 1 July. In a second phase, Agfa's RIS software will be used in the hospital's diagnostic and interventional radiology department.
