PACS vendor Visbion has received a seven-year contract from the Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals National Health Service (NHS) Trust for its vendor-neutral archive (VNA).
The trust plans to use the VNA to create an enterprise-wide archive for all radiology, cardiology, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and medical illustration images, according to Visbion. The VNA will also be utilized to repatriate all images that are currently in the central data store as part of the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT).
Furthermore, Vision said the trust plans to make use of the Visbion VNA and clinical portal as part of its electronic patient record system, yielding a single enterprise-wide and patient-centric view of all clinical data.
