Teleradiology provider signs 1.6M euro connectivity deal

Teleradiology provider Medica Group signed a 1.1 million pound (1.6 million euro) five-year connectivity deal with IT provider Redcentric to get access to N3, the National Health Service (NHS) healthcare network.

The N3 network, part of the Health and Social Care Information Centre, provides information, data, and IT systems for healthcare professionals.

The deal will provide 24x7 access to radiology and imaging reporting to more than 50% of NHS trusts across the U.K. The agreement means hospitals and other healthcare organizations will have more access to radiologists and subspecialty expertise. On average, Medica is now providing reports for the most urgent cases in less than 20 minutes to more than 50 NHS hospitals. It also means hospitals and trusts may receive reports and diagnostics as they're needed.

Redcentric provides Medica with primary servers based at its data center in Reading, with a failover back up from its Harrogate data center.
