Agfa secures Australian PACS contract

Agfa HealthCare has won a contract to supply its Enterprise Imaging software for the Australian Capital Territory Health Directorate.

The three-plus-four-year contract began in July 2017, with an expected go-live date in the first quarter of 2018.

ACT Health provides health services to locations across the Australian Capital Territory, including Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital, University of Canberra Public Hospital, and smaller, nontertiary facilities and in-reach services for private residences.

In 2016, ACT Health released a public tender for a system to replace its end-of-life RIS/PACS requiring internal and external messaging capability, access for external stakeholders, ability to develop and scale into the future, migration of 3 million imaging studies, and training and support. Agfa was nominated as the preferred supplier early in 2017, with the final agreement for Enterprise Imaging signed on 10 July.

The contract includes Enterprise Imaging for radiology, the web-based Xero universal image viewer, Enterprise Imaging Business Intelligence, Enterprise Imaging Scheduling, and the Integrated Care suite.
