FDA clears new Visus software update

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared version 4.7 of the JiveX software from PACS firm Visus.

The clearance covers the image data management application, as well as the JiveX Integrated Imaging and Medical Archive; it also covers JiveX ECG for digital display and processing of electrocardiogram (ECG) data.

These components allow JiveX to handle image, diagnostic, video, and biosignal data and to make them available by patient, the firm said.

JiveX 4.7 centralizes access to clinically relevant data from a single system; it doesn't replace an existing dedicated system but converts data from several systems via gateways into the established DICOM format and stores the data in an archive.
