Telemis picks JFR to launch updated PACS

Belgian PACS firm Telemis said it will launch a new version of its PACS software at the Journées Françaises de Radiologie (JFR) congress in Paris this week.

Telemis-Medical PACS version 4.6 offers enhanced 360° capabilities including new multiplanar processing functionality, and important new tools for reporting ultrasound data, the company said. The ultrasound feature dramatically improves the readability of ultrasound images by positioning screenshot markers, Telemis said. Finally, the new version offers ways to handle non-DICOM images, including images from smartphones and tablets.

The new version comes with two platform options: Telemis Medical Zero Footprint (TM-ZFP) improves flexibility for viewing images within hospitals and other facilities, while TM-Capture supports the capture and sharing of images using mobile devices, Telemis said.

TM-ZFP requires no installation of software on computers, tablets, or other devices used to look at the images, which reduces overhead on image postprocessing, Telemis said. Used with appropriate hardware, TM-ZFP allows radiologists to make more diagnoses from a single console, with work optimized for any screen.

The new offerings prepare users for future technological developments, and bring PACS use more into the clinical setting, Telemis said.
