Sectra's Q3 sales, profit increase

March 5, 2013 -- PACS developer Sectra enjoyed increased net sales and operating profit in the company's third fiscal quarter (end-January 31).

In the third quarter, Sectra's net sales increased 4.6% to 205.2 million kronor ($24.6 million euros), compared with 196.1 million kronor ($23.6 million euros) in the same quarter of 2012. Operating profit increased 290% to 21.1 million kronor ($2.5 million euros), compared with 5.4 million kronor ($650,000 euros) in the same quarter a year ago.

For the nine-month period, Sectra's net sales rose 2% to 568.9 million kronor ($68.3 million euros), compared with 554.6 million kronor ($66.6 million euros) in the same period of last fiscal year.

Nine-month operating profit declined by 15%, from 56.7 million kronor ($6.8 million euros) to 48.2 million kronor ($5.8 million euros). But excluding the nonrecurring item of Sectra's sale of its MicroDose business, the company's operating profit increased 52%, from 31.7 million kronor ($3.8 million euros) to 48.2 million kronor ($5.8 million euros).
