Biomedical device Biotronik has received the CE Mark for its MRI-compatible Ilivia implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and cardiac resynchronization devices (CRT-Ds).
The Ilivia devices include Biotronik's ProMRI and MRI AutoDetect technologies, according to the vendor. With MRI AutoDetect, cardiologists can activate a special window lasting up to 14 days in which a cardiac device's functionality is maintained until the patient is undergoing the MRI scan. The device switches into MRI mode automatically, with all device functionality restored once the scan is completed, Biotronik said.
