SyntheticMR signs research deal with Japanese hospital

Swedish medical imaging software developer SyntheticMR has signed a research agreement with Juntendo University Hospital in Tokyo for the hospital to use the firm's SyMRI software.

SyMRI will be used in clinical research projects related to multiple sclerosis (MS) and brain tumor metastases at the hospital.

SyMRI produces multiple contrast images from a single three- to six-minute scan; images can be fine-tuned and additional contrasts can be recreated after the scan, according to SyntheticMR.

The agreement with Juntendo University Hospital includes a license of SyMRI Research Edition for research use at the hospital. The research edition is optimized for clinical research within neuro imaging and includes exportable SyMaps, quantitative T1, T2, and proton density maps, the firm said. SyMaps can be saved and exported for further analysis in other formats.
