By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

December 18, 2012 -- U.K.-based MR Solutions has announced two upgrades that will make its benchtop 3-tesla MRI scanners ideal for preclinical research laboratories, the company said.

The company has developed the scanner using super-conducting magnets which eliminate the need for liquid helium cooling, and has cut the scanner's stray magnetic field so that other laboratory equipment can be safely operated within centimeters of the unit, according to Guildford-based MR Solutions.
